| Dina: Hi Wala'a... All you have to do is find a cartoon that shows a comparative or contrastive value. For example, the sample that you have in your booklet shows a cartoon expressing a contrast between how Western and Arab women are stereotypically percieved by an Arab man. You can also find two cartoons about one value and see if this value is the same or different in both cutures and comment on that. You can also find advertisements in newspapers, magazines, internet, etc. which expresses one value in Arabic or English and you can draw the other part. You can even draw the whole thing if you want. The main thing is that there is some kind of comparison expressed for ONE value or habit or belief or any aspect of culture. I hope this is clear. If not, let me know and I'll try to explain further. AND DON'T FORGET TO BE CREATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Regarding the buildings being ready, I asked, but no one is sure, so I think it's better to be there - just in case. |

The official registration week started this Monday and ends this Friday (after tomorrow). We were told that classes will start this Sat. I'm not sure if the buildings will be ready by Sat. but they're hopeful. You basically know what the situation is now... kind of a mess I guess lol. Just do your part by carefully following the instructions that you're given by your teachers and adm., and leave the rest up to them. |
